ASCEND

Enhancing Administrative Efficiency for Ascend Rehab.

image.png

THE PROBLEM

Ascend Rehab, a dedicated team of therapists working with children in schools, faced significant administrative challenges for their growing team. They needed a simple system to efficiently manage timesheets, user accounts, and reporting. The existing process was time-consuming, error-prone, and hindered their ability to focus on providing quality care.

THE BRIEF

Ascend Rehab approached the team at SS Tech to design and develop a responsive SaaS solution. The goal was to create an intuitive and user-friendly platform that allows therapists to submit, edit, and view timesheets seamlessly. Additionally, administrators required tools to manage user accounts, review timesheets, and generate multiple reports effortlessly.

However, Ascend wanted Phase 1 of the project to be completed by the end of summer so that their team could begin using it as schools started in September.

THE TEAM

The project was conducted in an Agile team, with a project owner, 3 UX Designers (including me), 1 front-end developer, 2 back-end developers, & 1 QA tester.

REFLECTION

During this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the synergy between design and development. Collaborating closely with developers within the same sprint enhanced our Agile team's communication and efficiency. This, in turn, led to improved user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.

Working together allowed us to uncover a wider range of user scenarios and refine the end-to-end user flow iteratively. Continuous feedback loops and teamwork were instrumental in creating a more user-centric and accessible solution. This experience underscored the pivotal role of teamwork in achieving a seamless UX/UI design.
